Our competition is structured to ensure that every entry is a win. By entering the competition and giving yourself an opportunity to win our impressive prizes, you guarantee the beneficiaries of ActionAid’s work a ‘win’. The funds generated by your entry will make a significant change to the lives of people bound by the bonds of poverty.
And for you? Well, with every entry, you as a photographer has an instant platform to showcase your talent, and gain the attention of our expert judges, who throughout the competition will be selecting some of their favourite entries to share with their many followers.
So with our competition there are only winners.
1st Place
A once in a life time trip to Uganda, where you will see first-hand the incredible work ActionAid are doing to educate underprivileged children. You will spend some time fuelling their creativity through the medium of photography, an experience neither you nor them will ever forget.
After this you will embark on a 6 day Gorilla safari with ‘On the go tours’. Heading into the lush mountains on the Rwandan border and getting a glimpse of these incredible animals in their natural habitat.

Your photographic record of the trip will then form the centre piece of our London exhibition of the competition.
Exhibition and competition book
A collection of the images from the competition, as selected by the judging panel will be exhibited in our London exhibition, scheduled to take place in summer 2012. They will also be made into a beautiful competition memoir courtesy of ‘Bob Books’. This book will be available to purchase through their online store with an element of the purchase price being donated to ActionAid.
Complimentary books
The top 3 entries as selected by the judging panel will receive a large hardback copy of the competition book, courtesy of ‘Bob books’. The next 5 selected entries will receive a standard sized hardback competition book.
